明日の夜明けiPhone15発売...'USB-C'充電端子を搭載

韓国時間13日午前2時、アップルの新しいフラッグシップ「iPhone15」シリーズが公開される。

アップルはこの日、カリフォルニア州クパチーノで「スペシャルイベント」を開き、iPhone15シリーズとアップデートされたアップルウォッチを公開する予定だ。

iPhone15は一般型、プラス、プロ、プロマックスなど4種で発売される可能性が高い。また、アップルは全体の生産量の60%以上を高価なプロシリーズ2種で構成すると伝えられた。

最新のアップルシリコンであるA17バイオニックチップは、プロラインナップにのみ搭載される。A17チップは6コアCPU(中央処理装置)とGPUで構成され、6GB容量のLPDDR5メモリを使用したと伝えられた。サブモデルであるiPhone15一般モデルとプラスにはA16バイオニックチップがサポートされる。出荷価格はiPhone15プロマックスモデルのみ前作と比較すると100ドル上がる見通しだ。

今回のシリーズの最も大きな変化は充電端子だ。iPhone15の4種はこれまで採用していたライトニングポートの代わりに「USB-C」充電端子が搭載される。EU(欧州連合)が2024年からヨーロッパで販売されるすべての電子機器にUSB-Cを義務化する法案施行を確定した影響だ。iPhoneにUSB-Cが適用されるのは今回が初めてだ。

ディスプレイ上部のデザインもパンチホールで統一する。iPhoneXシリーズから存在した「M字型脱毛」のノッチデザインがなくなり、「ダイナミックアイランド」が全モデルに拡大される。

iPhone15の正確な発売日は知られていない。ただし、米国など1次発売国基準では来週中に予想され、国内発売日は来月初めになると予想される。
