Apple's new flagship iPhone 15 series will be unveiled at 2 a.m. ET on Sept. 13.

Apple will hold a "special event" in Cupertino, California, to unveil the iPhone 15 series and an updated Apple Watch.

The iPhone 15 is likely to come in four variants - regular, plus, pro, and pro max - and Apple will reportedly make more than 60 percent of its production in the two higher-priced pro series.

The latest Apple silicon, the A17 bionic chip, will only be found in the Pro lineup. The A17 chip is said to have a six-core CPU (central processing unit) and GPU, with 6GB of LPDDR5 memory. The lower-end iPhone 15 regular and Plus models will support the A16 bionic chip. Only the iPhone 15 Pro Max model is expected to increase in price by $100 compared to its predecessor.

The biggest change for this series is the charging port. All four iPhone 15 models will feature USB-C charging instead of the traditional Lightning port. This is a result of the European Union (EU) finalizing legislation that will require USB-C for all electronics sold in Europe starting in 2024. This is the first time that USB-C will be available on an iPhone.

The design of the top of the display is also unified with a punch hole. The "M-shaped balding" notch design that has been present since the iPhone X series is gone, and the "Dynamic Island" will be expanded to all models.

The exact release date of the iPhone 15 is unknown. However, it is expected to be released sometime next week in the United States, and the domestic release date is expected to be early next month.

Japan Meteorological Agency lists Dokdo as Japanese territory on weather map for Typhoon No. 7 Lan

The Japan Meteorological Agency has sparked controversy for labeling Dokdo as Japanese territory on a weather map of Typhoon No. 7. On the 16th, Seo Kyung-duk, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, sent a protest email to the Japan Meteorological Agency through social networking services (SNS), demanding that the agency correct its mistake of labeling Dokdo as Japanese land. "The Japan Meteorological Agency has always labeled Dokdo as '竹島' (Takeshima), and we have been protesting against this for three years. The biggest problem is that many Japanese netizens visit the Japan Meteorological Agency's website during typhoon and tsunami warnings, which can create a false perception of Dokdo," he said. "In this protest email, we said, 'This is a clear territorial provocation. Dokdo is an undisputed territory of the Republic of Korea under historical, geographical, and international law." Professor Seo said that not o...

Mbappe angry at Japanese reporter's sarcasm of Lee Kang-in?

A video of Kylian Mbappe (25, Paris Saint-Germain) wrapping his arms around Lee Kang-in (22, Mallorca) in response to a sarcastic question from a Japanese journalist has been revealed to be a fake video manipulated by artificial intelligence (AI). It was a real press conference, but it was a video of Mbappe answering questions about his contract at the Euro 2020 press conference two years ago. Instead of the player's voice asking the question, a 'fake question voice' was created and edited. On the 15th of last month, a YouTube channel posted a video titled 'Marketing for Lee Kang-in, right? Mbappe's reaction to a Japanese reporter's question'. A Japanese journalist is heard asking in English during a press conference, "I heard that a South Korean player named Lee Kang-in is coming to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Do you think it's just a marketing move, and what do other Japanese players think?" Mbappe shakes his head. Mbappe shakes ...
