내일 새벽 아이폰15 출시…'USB-C' 충전단자 탑재

한국시간 13일 새벽 2시 애플의 새 플래그십 '아이폰15' 시리즈가 공개된다.

애플은 이날 캘리포니아 쿠퍼티노에서 '스페셜 이벤트'를 열고 아이폰15 시리즈와 업데이트된 애플 워치를 공개할 예정이다.

아이폰15는 일반형, 플러스, 프로, 프로 맥스 등 4종으로 출시될 가능성이 크다. 또 애플은 전체 생산량의 60% 이상을 고가의 프로 시리즈 2종으로 구성할 것으로 알려졌다.

최신형 애플 실리콘인 A17 바이오닉 칩은 프로 라인업에만 탑재된다. A17 칩은 6코어 CPU(중앙처리장치)와 GPU로 구성되고, 6GB 용량의 LPDDR5 메모리를 사용한 것으로 알려졌다. 하위 모델인 아이폰15 일반 모델과 플러스에는 A16 바이오닉 칩이 지원된다. 출고가는 아이폰15 프로맥스 모델만 전작과 비교하면 100달러 오를 전망이다.

이번 시리즈의 가장 큰 변화는 충전 단자다. 아이폰15 4종은 그간 고수했던 라이트닝 포트 대신 'USB-C' 충전단자가 탑재된다. EU(유럽연합)에서 2024년부터 유럽에서 판매되는 모든 전자기기에 USB-C를 의무화하는 법안 시행을 확정한 영향이다. 아이폰에 USB-C가 적용되는 것은 이번이 처음이다.

디스플레이 상단 디자인도 펀치홀로 통일한다. 아이폰X 시리즈부터 존재했던 'M자 탈모'의 노치 디자인이 사라지고 '다이내믹 아일랜드'가 전 모델로 확대된다.

아이폰15의 정확한 출시일은 알려지지 않았다. 다만 미국 등 1차 출시국 기준으로는 다음 주 중으로 예상되며, 국내 출시일은 내달 초로 전망된다.
