Chuu, a former Girl Group of the Month member turned solo artist, broke down in tears as she discussed her dispute with her former agency.
On the 18th, a showcase was held at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the release of Chew's first mini album, "Howl".
Chew, who performed the title track on stage, said in a Q&A with reporters that she was upset and disappointed that she had a conflict with her former agency.
"I think the fans had a harder time than I did with the bad rumors," Chew said, "That was the most upsetting part. I was so sorry for the fans who had a hard time," he said tearfully.
"I never did anything that wasn't honorable in front of the fans," he said, emphasizing, "I think I prepared well for this album because I had faith and conviction (and didn't waver)."
Chew, who debuted as the group's girl of the month in 2017, has been active in various fields outside of the music industry, including entertainment, commercials, and pictorials, with her characteristically bright energy.
However, she had a conflict with her former agency, BlockBerry Creative, over settlement issues, and filed for a temporary injunction to suspend the effectiveness of her agency contract and an exclusive contract lawsuit, which she won. In the process, the agency released her from Girl of the Month.
In April of this year, Chew signed an exclusive contract with ATRP, a new agency, and has since been active in entertainment and commercials.
"I want to show my fans my music and performance, and I can't wait for the moment when I can talk to them closely," said Chew, who cited concerts as her favorite thing to do after her solo debut.
"My goal this year is to show the new Chew to many people through my first album, 'Howl,'" he continued, "and I hope that numerically, 'Howl' will stay on the album chart for a long time."
Meanwhile, Chew will release his first mini album, "Howl," today (April 18) at 6 p.m. KST. The album includes the title track, "Howl," as well as five other songs, "Underwater," "My Palace," "Aliens," and "Hitchhiker." The album will be released at 6 p.m. today.
