In August, Dio was seen smoking indoors in a self-contained video posted on EXO's YouTube channel. In the video, D.O. can be seen exhaling smoke through his nose as he adjusts his clothes with the staff in the waiting room.
A netizen raised suspicions of indoor smoking and filed a complaint with the Mapo-gu Health Center. The response from the health center was also posted on the online community.
According to the response, office buildings, factories, and mixed-use buildings with a gross floor area of more than 1,000 square meters are designated as smoke-free throughout the facility, so smoking inside MBC's headquarters is a violation of the ban.
It is reported that the DIO side claimed that they used nicotine-free e-cigarettes, but since they could not prove it, they were fined. "As a public figure, we also confirm that the party has vowed to comply with the law in good faith in the future."
In addition to smoking indoors, netizens also pointed out that Dio's behavior may have been "bullying" of staff members.
Meanwhile, Dio is set to release his second mini album "Expectation" on September 17, following his appearance in the film "The Moon," which was released on August 2.
