최현욱, 담배꽁초 무단 투기 논란

배우 최현욱이 길거리에서 담배를 피우고 꽁초를 무단으로 버리는 영상이 공개돼 논란이 일고 있다.

최근 온라인 커뮤니티에는 최현욱으로 추정되는 남성이 서울 압구정 로데오 거리에서 여성들과 함께 있는 모습이 담겼다. 최현욱은 두 여성 중 한 명과 손을 꼭 쥔 채 피우고 난 담배꽁초를 압구정 로데오 거리 길바닥에 투척해 눈길을 모았다. 네티즌들은 해당 구역은 흡연구역이 아니라며 무단투기를 지적했다.

현재 담배꽁초 무단투기시 횟수에 관계없이 5만 원의 과태료를 부과하고 있다. 최근 9년 동안 담배꽁초 투기 단속 건수가 연평균 7만1907건으로 전체 무단투기 단속의 64%를 차지할 정도로 늘어나자 시는 적발 횟수에 따라 과태료 인상분을 차등 적용해 1회 10만 원, 2회 15만 원, 3회 20만 원을 부과하는 방안을 검토 중인 것으로 알려졌다. 서울시는 환경부에 폐기물관리법 시행령 제38조의4 과태료의 부과기준 개정을 건의할 예정이다.
